Scotland can make it five EURO 2024 qualifying wins out of five in Cyprus tonight

Steve Clarke's Scotland have been the surprise package in Group A, leading the way with 12 points after collecting four wins out of four so far, including their triumph over Spain at Hampden Park.

Not many football fans would have predicted that Steve Clarke's side would be eight points ahead of Norway and nine points ahead of Spain at this stage of proceedings, but the manager is keen not to place too much pressure on his side.

"Some of the performances, or moments in games, we can improve on. We don't think for a minute that we're the finished article.

"When we qualified for Euro 2020, I said we'd improve and we've done that - and there's more improvement in the squad to come.

"I just want to help these guys be as good as they can be."

Their fifth match in Group A takes place tonight against a Cyprus side that have lost all eight games against Scotland, and sit bottom of the group after losing all three of their qualifying games so far.

Cyprus boss Temuri Ketsbaia knows the task at hand to stop a resurgent Scotland is an uphill one - Scotland have won their last 10 group stage qualification matches, stretching back to September 2021. It is the longest ongoing run of any European nation currently.

Ketsbaia said that the heat the Scottish players will have to play in could be a deciding factor in any success that his team may have tonight.

CYPRUS VS SCOTLAND TEAM NEWS

Scotland go into this camp in a fine run of form and with a pretty settled squad. Goalkeeper Liam Kelly and Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson were forced to leave the camp after picking up injuries with Robbie McCrorie replacing the Motherwell captain.
