Davies extends Bayern stay until 2030
Bayern Munich confirmed that Alphonso Davies has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
Davies, who joined the Bundesliga side from the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019, has put pen to paper on fresh terms that will keep him with Vincent Kompany's side until 2030.
The Canada international's previous deal was set to expire in June, with reports suggesting a free transfer to Real Madrid in the summer was on the cards.
He has chosen to remain in Munich until the end of the 2029-2030 campaign and would see his stay there reach 11 years should he play out his new contract.
Davies has made 25 appearances across all competitions for Bayern this season, scoring once and providing three assists.
In the Bundesliga this term, only Michael Olise (41) and Jamal Musiala (47) have completed more dribbles than Davies (29).
"I am very happy to have extended my contract at this great club," Davies said. "I came to FC Bayern when I was 18 and just wanted to learn as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position.
"Now I'm looking forward to another five years together. I've already achieved a lot here, but there's more to come."
During his time at the Allianz Arena, Davies has won 13 major honours, including five top-flight titles and one Champions League trophy in 2019-2020.
The news comes 24 hours after veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer signed a new one-year deal to take him to 15 seasons with the 33-time Bundesliga champion.
Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane and Thomas Muller also see their respective contracts expire at the end of the season, while there are also questions over Jamal Musiala's future, with his deal coming to an end next year.
