Coady leaves Wrexham after sealing Charlton loan deal
Former England international Conor Coady has left Wrexham just five months after arriving at the Racecourse Ground, joining Charlton Athletic on loan for the rest of the season.
Coady, who captained Wolves to back-to-back seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, joined Wrexham from Leicester City in August.
However, he lost his place in Phil Parkinson's preferred starting XI just five games into the Championship season, with his most recent league outing being a 3-1 defeat to QPR on 13 September.
Coady will now leave a Wrexham team that could win a fourth successive promotion, going all the way from non-league to the Premier League, for a Charlton side battling to avoid relegation.
Charlton is 19th in the table and three points clear of the bottom three, and Coady's debut could come against his former club Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
"We're delighted to add Conor. He is a player of immense experience and someone who has played at the highest level and played for his country," Charlton boss Nathan Jones said.
"His leadership and his qualities are something we feel we needed at this time. At this point, we really felt we could utilise his leadership going into the last 18 games."
