Millot leads way as Stuttgart claims DFB-Pokal win
Stuttgart defeated third-tier side Arminia Bielefeld 4-2 to lift the DFB-Pokal in Germany, with a stunning display from Enzo Millot leading the way at Olympiastadion Berlin.
Nick Woltemade put Stuttgart ahead after 15 minutes, beating goalkeeper Jonas Kersken with a low shot from the edge of the area off Angelo Stiller's set-up.
Millot doubled the lead just seven minutes later, finishing promptly from a counter-attack, before Deniz Undav added a third goal in the 28th minute, with Stiller again the provider.
Stuttgart went into the break with a mammoth three-goal lead and Millot found the net once more in the 66th minute to put the contest to bed.
But Arminia Bielefeld fought back with a goal of its own eight minutes from full-time before Josha Vagnoman netted an own goal three minutes later to give it hope of a late fightback, but it was not to be for the underdog in the end.
This marks Stuttgart's fourth DFB-Pokal title and its first since 1997, where it also defeated a third division team in Energie Cottbus.
Stuttgart, which finished ninth in the Bundesliga this season, has also now earned a place in the next season's UEFA Europa League.
