Pulisic ended a run of five months without a goal as he netted in United States's 3-2 win over Senegal.

The playmaker, who teed up Sergino Dest's early opener, made it 2-0 in the 20th minute, rounding goalkeeper Mory Diaw to end a five-month goal drought.

Pulisic did not score in any of his final 19 games of the season for AC Milan, but the former Chelsea attacker felt his performances were nevertheless of a high level.

"I felt this confidence. I've played really well in recent months too, but all people seem to care about is goals," Pulisic said.

"So hopefully now people can stop talking about it. And I feel good and now obviously just a friendly.

"[We've] got big games ahead and I've got to be ready."

US coach Mauricio Pochettino has been delighted by Pulisic's work in training, as the World Cup co-host ups its preparations.

"Every day, training with this attitude, with this commitment, with this energy, I think now we need to try to [extend] until 90 minutes," Pochettino said.

"Happy for him also because after a long time or few months [without a goal], let's score again, which is important for a player knowing the preparation to the World Cup."

Pochettino's team will face Germany in its final pre-tournament friendly, before taking on Paraguay, Australia and Turkiye in World Cup Group D.

"I think it was, I think positive to finish after 90 minutes in a good form," Pochettino said as he reflected on the win over Senegal, who levelled through Sadio Mane's double before Folarin Balogun's winner.

"I think with the possibility to [have] nearly the whole roster playing minutes. I think it's many positive things. [There are] things that we need to improve, obvious things that we need to improve, but I think I'm happy to finish the first week of training and competing [against] a really good team like Senegal."
