PSG wins to confirm fourth straight Ligue 1 title
Paris Saint-Germain beat Angers 1-0 at home to secure a fourth straight Ligue 1 title and maintain its unbeaten league record this season.
The match was controlled in its entirety by PSG, having had 81.2 per cent possession and 20 shots.
But despite its domination, the away side managed to hold PSG off during the first half after Goncalo Ramos and Vitinha both had chances to get their side ahead.
It was not until the 55th minute that Luis Enrique's hosts got ahead after Desire Doue volleyed home Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's cross.
They continued to control the match after the goal and goalkeeper Yahia Fofana had to be on form to stop a Fabian Ruiz volley four minutes later.
Angers did have a penalty appeal with 12 minutes to go, although the on-field decision of no penalty was confirmed after a video assistant referee (VAR) check.
It was, in truth, a much more comfortable afternoon for PSG than the score would suggest. Having taken an unassailable lead at the top of the table, it can now switch focus to its UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa in midweek.
