Palace cruises to one-sided victory at Fulham
Crystal Palace produced a dominant display to beat Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage, with a familiar face helping the visitors with the scoreline.
Oliver Glasner's side scored a goal in each half to win a game it controlled throughout and can only regret that it did not score even more.
Eberechi Eze went close early but Palace soon broke the deadlock via an own goal from its former defender Joachim Andersen, who headed into his own net on 37 minutes.
The referee ruled out a Jean-Philippe Mateta strike for offside after a video assistant referee review shortly after the break but Daniel Munoz doubled his side's lead on 66 minutes.
The full-back lashed home to finish off a scintillating counter-attack led by Mateta, who charged forward before playing in Munoz.
Fulham rarely had a sniff and drops to ninth, while Palace moves 16 points clear of the bottom three in 13th.
The scoreline could have been bigger had the visitors been more efficient with their own opportunities, and Glasner believes their game plan was executed perfectly.
"The players worked so hard for this win, and they were very disciplined," the Austrian said.
"We didn't give them clear chances. We were very compact and waited for the chances. We defended as a team – it was a great performance and result.
"We don't know the reason for winning more away than at home. It is the same approach. I think it is important that we don't always talk about winning at home.
"If you think: 'We have to win, we have to win', you're not thinking about what you're doing on the pitch. You're not disciplined.
"We know we can score goals all over the pitch, and we can be very tough to play against, especially when we defend like we did today."
Marco Silva acknowledged Fulham was far from its best, but was left unimpressed by the performance of referee Robert Jones.
"The first half was balanced. We didn't allow them to press like they usually do," he said. "We did it the way we should and the way we wanted.
"After that, some decisions went against us and there were nerves in the stadium. I thought it was a foul for the corner before their first goal, and moments like that can be decisive.
"I never saw, this season or last season, Craven Cottage complaining as much as today about decisions. We like to be a physical side, but today, we were unlucky with the referee.
"It is not the first time this season. They can have bad afternoons, and it was clear today was a bad afternoon for the referee."
