Ten Hag reflects on Man Utd difficulties
Erik ten Hag admitted his Manchester United side was not good enough even though it had many highs during his tenure.
The Dutchman took over in 2022 and was in charge of United for just over two years before being sacked in October, despite signing a one-year contract extension prior to this season.
While his first campaign in charge saw the Red Devils win the Carabao Cup and qualify for the Champions League, they struggled to maintain those levels in his second, though they finished 2023-2024 by beating rival Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
However, after a poor start to this season, Ten Hag's time at the club came to an end with a 2-1 defeat to West Ham, which left the club 14th in the Premier League.
"If there's one thing I miss, it's Old Trafford," Ten Hag said. "We've had many highs, but as I always say, there is always room for improvement.
"Good is not enough. You can do better."
In recent weeks, Ten Hag has been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Feyenoord, though both clubs have since hired Niko Kovac and Robin van Persie respectively.
However, the 55 year-old - also linked with a move to the MLS - revealed he has no plans to step back into management this season.
"I've already decided not to take any job until the 1st of July, so until the start of the new season."
