Joao Felix joins AC Milan on loan from Chelsea
AC Milan has bolstered its attacking options with the addition of Chelsea's Joao Felix on loan for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season.
Milan has paid a £5million loan fee for Felix, with no obligation to buy the 25 year-old Portugal international in the summer.
After spending the second half of the 2022-2023 campaign on loan at Stamford Bridge, Joao Felix put pen to paper on a permanent deal with the Blues in August last year.
He signed a seven-year deal for a reported £35m, but has struggled for game time this term given the overhaul of additions made by Chelsea during the summer window.
Joao Felix was one of 11 new arrivals at the club before the 2024-2025 campaign, and he has made just 20 appearances across all competitions.
The former Atletico Madrid striker started three Premier League games and has been mainly used by Maresca in the cup competitions.
In Chelsea's campaigns in the Europa Conference League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup, Joao Felix scored six goals in eight appearances across 584 minutes of action.
Joao Felix's arrival at the San Siro offers Milan manager Sergio Conceicao another exciting attacking option for the remainder of the campaign.
The Rossoneri also welcomed Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez on deadline day, having completed deals earlier in the month for Kyle Walker and Warren Bondo.
Milan, which drew 1-1 with Inter in the Milan derby on Monday, is eighth in the Serie A standings and faces Roma in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia on Thursday.
