Pierotti double puts Parma in deeper trouble
Parma missed the chance to move out of the bottom three in Serie A as Lecce pulled itself clear with a 3-1 away win in this six-pointer.
The hosts went ahead in the 34th minute from the spot, Emanuele Valeri converting the penalty with power after VAR had intervened, but two minutes later, Nikola Krstovic pulled the visitors level with a superb header.
Just after the hour, Santiago Pierotti slotted home to put Lecce ahead, and despite a shot count heavily in its favour, Parma conceded again in stoppage-time as Pierotti bagged a brace with another right-footed finish.
Parma is 18th on the table, the last of the relegation spots, with 20 points, which is just three shy of Lecce, which moved up to 13th on 23 points, illustrating how tight the battle for survival already is in the division.
