Australia's Alexei Popyrin moved through to the Round of 32 at the Indian Wells Open with a straight sets defeat of German Zizou Bergs, winning 7-6 7-5.

Unfortunately for fellow Australian Christopher O'Connell, the news wasn't so good as he was defeated by Italian Matteo Berrettini, the No.28 seed, 2-6 6-7 (2-7).
