A childhood marked by tragedy

Ramos was born in Haiti and was approximately one year old when the devastating 2010 earthquake struck Port-au-Prince.

At the time, he was living in an orphanage and managed to survive one of the most severe natural disasters in the recent history of the Caribbean nation.

Shortly afterward, he was adopted by an Argentine family and began a new life in Buenos Aires, where he found stability, a home and a passion that would once again change his destiny: soccer.

Soccer as a new opportunity

From an early age, Ramos began to show qualities that attracted attention within the youth ranks.

His talent allowed him to progress through Vélez’s academy, where he is currently considered one of the club’s most promising forwards.

His development eventually opened the door to Argentina’s U-17 national team, making him the first Haiti-born player to be called up to represent an Argentine national side.

An opportunity at a decisive moment

The coaching staff continues to evaluate its players before finalizing the squad that will take part in the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, meaning every training session and friendly match could prove decisive.

His ability to respond when Argentina was trailing could strengthen his chances of earning a place in the final squad for the international competition.

The major goal on the horizon

Argentina will compete in Group C of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, where it will face Denmark, Mozambique and Australia.

The tournament will be held in Qatar and will feature 48 national teams, significantly increasing the number of participants compared with previous editions.

For Ramos, the competition represents an opportunity to continue writing a story that seemed unimaginable during the earliest years of his life.

After surviving a tragedy, starting over in another country and developing within one of Argentine soccer’s most important academies, the forward is now pursuing the dream of representing La Albiceleste at a World Cup.
