The €100 Million Signing Real Madrid Is Eyeing to Revolutionize Their Squad
Real Madrid remains active in the transfer market as they look to rebuild a squad that ended the season with mixed results. While the signing of Álvaro Carreras is nearly finalized and Ibrahima Konaté continues to be strongly linked, the club is now turning some of its attention to the midfield. Although Xabi Alonso has requested reinforcements in that area, the club’s immediate priority remains strengthening the defense. Still, one name has resurfaced on the club’s radar: Alexis Mac Allister.
The €100 Million Move Real Madrid Could Make
The Liverpool midfielder, a World Cup winner with Argentina, is once again being tracked by the Spanish giants. At 26, Mac Allister has become a vital piece in the ‘Reds’ setup and had already caught the attention of Real Madrid scouts during his time at Brighton. Following the Club World Cup, his name has gained renewed prominence within the Santiago Bernabéu offices.
However, bringing him in won’t be easy. Reports from England suggest Liverpool has no intention of letting him go unless Real Madrid is willing to pay over €100 million—a figure the Madrid board currently has no plans to meet... unless a strategic sale occurs.

That potential sale could be Rodrygo Goes. The Brazilian forward has lost prominence since Kylian Mbappé arrived, and several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, are reportedly interested in him. Should Rodrygo depart for a fee close to €100 million, the door could open for Mac Allister to join the Spanish giants.
Under Xabi Alonso, the team has already begun its rebuilding process after a disappointing season that saw them win only the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, while falling short in the Champions League, Copa del Rey, and the LaLiga title race. Their heavy elimination at the hands of PSG in the Club World Cup and persistent defensive issues have raised concerns within the club.
With 15 losses and alarming statistics—like conceding 84 goals, matching the club’s worst defensive record—Real Madrid is in urgent need of major changes. Should the move for Mac Allister go through, it would mark a clear commitment to tactical intelligence and balance—two elements that were sorely missing in Madrid's most recent campaign.
