El Barcelona Is Close to Resigning Luis Diaz and Remaining Empty Handed
FC Barcelona is pushing hard to sign Luis Díaz. The Catalan club had shown a certain level of optimism regarding the deal, largely due to the player desire to wear the Barça shirt. However, Liverpool firm stance is currently holding up negotiations.
Liverpool Stands Firm
The English club has informed the player’s agents that they have no intention of negotiating his transfer in this summer window. They would only be willing to let him go for a non-negotiable fee of $96 million, a condition that effectively renders the Colombian winger untouchable.
Barça Moves Strategically, but Has No Free Path
So far, Barcelona has not submitted an official offer to Liverpool but has been in contact with Díaz representatives to outline a plan aimed at facilitating his departure from the Premier League. Regarding salary, the Colombian is reportedly open to the proposal Barça would make. However, he has also opened the door to talks with Bayern Munich, whose financial offer is significantly more attractive.
Luis Díaz is under contract until 2027, but he is looking to leave Anfield this summer if a renewal is not offered. His camp sees this as a key window to make a move to another top European club.
A Complicated Deal With Time Running Out
The situation is currently at a standstill. In the coming days, it seems unlikely that Díaz will formally request a transfer, especially as Liverpool continues to process the emotional impact of Diogo Jota recent passing. This could prolong the negotiation process something that may actually benefit Barça, who are in no rush, unlike Bayern, who are eager to secure a winger as soon as possible.
Luis Díaz camp is expected to put pressure on Liverpool in an attempt to lower their asking price, but they face a club with no real need to sell. The Reds are reluctant to part ways with the Colombian and see limited replacement options in the current market.
Time is Ticking for Deco
Undoubtedly, Luis Díaz potential move to Barcelona becomes more complicated with each passing day. Liverpool has no intention of letting him go, and Bayern’s offer is far superior financially. Deco and Barça sporting department must develop a strong and convincing strategy if they hope to sway Liverpool and bring the Colombian star to Camp Nou.
