How and Where to Watch: Çorum FK vs Fenerbahçe LIVE on beIN SPORTS
Fenerbahçe head into Matchday 11 with a new head coach and a confidence-boosting Champions League victory over Liverpool. But their domestic position remains a concern, and Çorum FK are level on points with the Istanbul giants.
Fenerbahçe travel to face Çorum FK in Matchday 11 of the Turkish Süper Lig, with both teams looking to move up the standings.
The match takes place on Sunday, November 8, at 7:55 AM ET, and will be broadcast LIVE on beIN SPORTS.
Fenerbahçe enter the game in eighth place with 16 points, while Çorum FK sit ninth with the same total but an inferior goal difference.
The fixture also marks an important moment for Fenerbahçe, who have appointed former Turkish international Emre Belözoğlu as their new head coach.
Emre Belözoğlu Returns to Fenerbahçe as Head Coach
Fenerbahçe have turned to a familiar face as they look to improve their results.
Emre Belözoğlu, 46, has replaced İsmail Kartal, who resigned last week following a disappointing run of results in the Turkish league and Champions League.
The former midfielder has a long association with Fenerbahçe, having represented the club as a player and later begun his coaching career there.
Belözoğlu started his playing career at Galatasaray before moving abroad to join Inter Milan and Newcastle United.
He returned to Turkey in 2008 to play for Fenerbahçe and later spent a brief period with Atlético de Madrid.
After another spell at Fenerbahçe, he moved to Başakşehir before eventually returning to the Istanbul club, where he retired from professional football in 2020.
He also enjoyed an extensive international career, making 101 appearances and scoring nine goals for Turkey.
His coaching career has since taken him to several Turkish clubs, most recently Kasımpaşa.
Belözoğlu left that position to return to Fenerbahçe, where he now faces the challenge of improving the team's domestic results.
Fenerbahçe Look to Build on Liverpool Victory
The coaching change comes shortly after an important European result.
Fenerbahçe defeated Liverpool 3-2 in the Champions League, giving the team a much-needed boost ahead of its return to domestic competition.
Their situation in the Turkish Süper Lig, however, remains less encouraging.
After ten matches, Fenerbahçe sit eighth with 16 points, leaving them with ground to make up in the standings.
The visit to Çorum FK provides an opportunity to build on the confidence gained from their European victory while beginning a new chapter under Belözoğlu.
With both clubs level on points, the result could also have an immediate impact on their respective league positions.
Çorum FK Aim to Overtake Fenerbahçe
Çorum FK enter the match in ninth place with 16 points, sitting just behind Fenerbahçe on goal difference.
Their recent results suggest they are capable of challenging the visitors.
Çorum FK have recorded three wins and two defeats in their last five matches, showing encouraging form despite some inconsistency.
Their most recent outing ended in a 3-1 away victory over Erzurumspor FK, a result that should give them confidence ahead of Sunday's fixture.
Now they face a Fenerbahçe side adjusting to a managerial change.
For Çorum FK, a victory would mean moving ahead of the Istanbul club in the standings and building on their latest positive result.
A Direct Battle Between Two Teams on 16 Points
Despite the difference in reputation between the two clubs, their league positions suggest a closely contested matchup.
Fenerbahçe and Çorum FK are separated only by goal difference after ten rounds.
The visitors will look to carry their Champions League momentum into domestic action, while the hosts aim to make the most of their recent improvement.
For Belözoğlu, the game represents an early opportunity to establish his approach and help Fenerbahçe climb the table.
For Çorum FK, it is a chance to earn an important result against one of Turkey's biggest clubs.
