If the Matildas finish third in Group A and are in the top two of the three third-placed teams:
- All of their knockout finals, including the final, will be at Stadium Australia in Sydney (assuming they aren't eliminated)
If the Matildas finish fourth in Group A:
- They will be eliminated from the AFC Women's Asian Cup

In a crucial match to decide who is the front-runner to lead Group A, the Matildas host Korea Republic in Sydney.
