Irvine's St Pauli claims vital six pointer
Australia's Jackson Irvine led his St Pauli side to a crucial 2-0 away win over Heidenheim in the Bundesliga to pull awy from the bottom three while leaving the opponent mired in it.
The win extended Pauli's winning streak at Heidenheim to four matches and moved it up to 14th on the table with 17 points, three clear of the bottom three, where Heidenheim sits with Holstein Kiel and bottom side Bochum below on 11 and 10 points respectively.
Johannes Eggestein opened the scoring for the Boys in Brown on 25 minutes, but the drama would all come in stoppage-time at the end of the second half.
Heidenheim thought it had equalised in the 91st minute, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside, and a minute later, Morgan Guilavogui was up the other end to bag a second for St Pauli and put the result beyond any doubt.
