Musiala to miss Bayern's Champions League quarter-final through injury
Bayern Munich have suffered another injury blow, with Jamal Musiala sustaining a hamstring problem against Augsburg on Friday.
Jamal Musiala will miss next week's Champions League quarter-final against Inter and will be out for an indefinite period after suffering a hamstring injury.
Musiala, who scored Bayern's equaliser in their 3-1 Bundesliga win over Augsburg on Friday, was forced off in the 54th minute of the game.
He is the latest player to be added to Vincent Kompany's injury list in the past few weeks, after defenders Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito, as well as goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Musiala has made 40 appearances for Bayern in all competitions this season, starting 33 of those games, and is their second-highest scorer with 18 goals (Harry Kane top with 34).
He has also registered five assists, while only Joshua Kimmich (112) and Michael Olise (82) have created more chances than his 73.
"FC Bayern will be without Jamal Musiala for the time being," the club said.
"Following a scan by the German record champions' medical team, it's been confirmed the 22-year-old attacker suffered a muscle tear in his left hamstring during the 3-1 win at FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday night."
Bayern have a six-point advantage over second-placed Bayer Leverkusen in the title race. They also host Italy's Inter in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.
