PSV crowned Dutch champion after Feyenoord draws
PSV was crowned Eredivisie champion for the 27th time after second-placed Feyenoord was held to a 0-0 draw by lowly Volendam.
Robin van Persie's side knew victory was a must at Kras Stadion, but was unable to deliver, with PSV's 17-point lead at the top now unassailable.
A day earlier, PSV came out on top in a dramatic seven-goal thriller with Utrecht, with Couhaib Driouech scoring a 94th-minute winner to snatch a stunning 4-3 victory.
Artem Stepanov and Gjivai Zechiel had given Utretch a two-goal lead after 13 minutes, but Ismael Saibari was able to reduce the deficit in the 21st minute.
The game turned again early in the second half as two goals in four minutes from Saibari and Guus Til put PSV ahead, but Jesper Karlsson levelled eight minutes from time.
However, in the fourth minute of stoppage-time, Driouech collected the ball on the left before cutting inside and firing off a shot that somehow squeezed past Vasilios Barkas.
Peter Bosz's side faced a nervous wait to see whether it would be crowned champion, but Feyenoord limped to a disappointing goalless draw with 14th-placed Volendam.
PSV become the earliest champion by date in Eredivisie history, beating its own record set on 8 April, 1978.
Its third consecutive Eredivisie title makes the Eindhoven outfit the first team to win three straight since Ajax did so between 2019 and 2022, under Erik ten Hag.
Bosz also put himself into elite company, with PSV having only won three consecutive titles twice before in its history.
Jan Reker and Guus Hiddink won four titles in a row with PSV between 1986 and 1989, a period that also included the club's historic European Cup triumph in 1988.
Between 2005 and 2008, PSV also won four consecutive league titles, then under the stewardship of Sef Vergoossen, Ronald Koeman, and Hiddink.
