Arsenal eases into Champions League quarters
Arsenal completed a resounding 9-3 aggregate victory over PSV with a 2-2 home draw to move into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Mikel Arteta's side did the damage in the first leg, thrashing the Eredivisie champions 7-1 before Thursday's draw at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal led in the sixth minute when Armando Obispo's poor pass was ruthlessly punished by Oleksandr Zinchenko's brilliant curling strike into the bottom-left corner.
PSV may have feared another hammering after conceding early, bit it responded well with a fine finish of its own from ex-Tottenham winger Ivan Perisic, who took a touch before finding the top corner with a left-footed effort.
The visitor's leveller seemed to spark it into life, and it almost led less than a minute later, only for Couhaib Driouech to see his attempt tipped around the post by David Raya.
Myles Lewis-Skelly then came close to putting the Gunners back ahead on the half-hour mark, but his effort struck the post with the aid of a touch from visiting goalkeeper Walter Benitez.
Declan Rice restored Arsenal's lead eight minutes before the break, heading home from inside the area after good work from Raheem Sterling.
However, Peter Bosz's side restored some pride in the 70th minute with another moment of individual brilliance. Jorginho was robbed of possession, which led to Driouech collecting Isaac Babadi's incisive pass before lofting the ball over the on-rushing Raya.
