Fulham gets Palace tie as FA Cup draw is completed
Fulham's reward for its penalty shootout victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup is a home tie against Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals of the competition.
After a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford and with the teams failing to be separated in extra-time, spot-kicks decided which would be the penultimate team to advance to the next round.
Bernd Leno proved to be Fulham's hero in the shootout, saving penalties from Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee as the Cottagers reached the quarter-finals for the second time in the past three seasons, as many times as they managed between 2004-2005 and 2021-2022.
Manchester City, meanwhile, faces a tough test if it is to make the semi-finals after being handed a trip to in-form Bournemouth in the next round.
Pep Guardiola's side left it late to edge past giant-killing Plymouth Argyle 3-1, with youngster Nico O'Reilly scoring twice before Kevin De Bruyne sealed the win.
Aston Villa will face Preston North End, the only EFL Championship side remaining in the competition, in what will be a first meeting since a 1-1 draw in the second tier back in December 2018.
Brighton will face Nottingham Forest after it beat Ipswich Town on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra-time.
