Plymouth announces Muslic as Rooney's successor
Plymouth Argyle has announced the appointment of Miron Muslic as Wayne Rooney's successor at Home Park.
The Austrian, who was sacked by Belgian side Cercle Brugge last month, has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal with the EFL Championship's bottom club.
The 42-year-old becomes the first foreign head coach in Plymouth's history, and will take charge of his first game when the Pilgrims host Oxford United on Wednesday (AEDT).
"Miron had a clear vision of how he wanted to take Argyle forward and showed a depth of tactical awareness that made it clear exactly how he wanted the team to set up and play," Plymouth chairman Simon Hallett said.
"He comes with glowing reviews from his time at Cercle Brugge where he took a team from a lowly league position to European football, which is no mean feat.
"I want to welcome him to the club and look forward to seeing him have an immediate impact on the team."
