Ter Stegen recovery on track, says Flick
Hansi Flick says Marc-Andre ter Stegen's recovery is "on the right track", after the Barcelona goalkeeper returned to training after a knee injury.
Ter Stegen ruptured the patella tendon in his right knee during Barca's 5-1 victory over Villarreal last September.
The Germany international underwent surgery, while Wojciech Szczesny came out of retirement the next month to deputise between the sticks.
However, Ter Stegen is nearing a return to full fitness, and Flick is pleased with his compatriot's progress.
"He started training, a first step," Flick said ahead of the Blaugrana's clash with Sevilla.
"He improved a lot. We are happy. Everything is on the right track."
Third-place Barca is eyeing a third straight LaLiga win to maintain the pressure on leader Real Madrid, which was four points clear ahead of facing rival Atletico Madrid on Sunday (AEDT).
Flick is expecting a tough test against 12th-place Sevilla at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, but is pleased to be heading there with more available players, with the likes of Gavi, Dani Olmo and Inigo Martinez returning from injury.
"Every game, you start from scratch," he added. "The atmosphere in the stadium is very nice. We have to play with our style, and that's what's important.
"Now, we have the whole team playing very well. In the last games, they showed it and created a lot of chances. We have all the players who can play and, [on Sunday], we are also going with fresh legs."
