Iraola avoids talk of pinching Postecoglou's job
With Bournemouth well in the hunt for European qualification, Andoni Iraola has been linked with Ange Postecoglou's job at Tottenham Hotspur.
Iraola, though, insists he is "really happy" at Bournemouth, which sits 10th on the Premier League table and remains well in the hunt to secure European qualification next season, trailing fourth-place Chelsea by just five points.
The Cherries are also in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with a tie against Manchester City at Vitality Stadium coming up on Monday (AEDT).
Iraola's impressive work has seen him linked with a move to Spurs, who are 14th on the table, having endured a difficult campaign that has mounted pressure on Australian Postecoglou.
However, the Spaniard's focus is on continuing to make strides with Bournemouth.
"I want to do my job the best I can," he said. "I don't know how far we can go, or where we will finish. If I don't do the job very well, they will find someone else.
"I'm really happy here. We have a great opportunity to make history, and it would be amazing for me, personally, for the club to achieve new heights, but we know that we have to be realistic.
"There are better teams than us, and we have to fight against teams that are very good. We will try to give the best level we have."
Iraola also spoke about defender Dean Huijsen, who is reportedly on Real Madrid's radar as a result of an impressive debut season at Bournemouth since his move from Juventus.
The 19-year-old was rewarded with his first senior caps for Spain in its UEFA Nations League quarter-final tie against Netherlands during the recent international break.
"We are not surprised [with the transfer talk], probably because he has now made his national team debut," Iraola added.
"He has been playing consistently, and I think he has performed very well. He has faced very difficult forwards, but we already knew he was a very good player when he came in the summer."
