Pereira vows Wolves will fight until the end in relegation scrap
Wolves can take another big stride towards Premier League safety when they face Everton at Molineux on Saturday.
Vitor Pereira vowed Wolves will "fight until the end" in their battle to avoid Premier League relegation, as they prepare for Saturday's visit of Everton.
Wolves have won two of their past three league matches, and are five points above the relegation zone with 11 matches to play.
Pereira's side were knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties by Bournemouth last weekend, with their sole focus now on staying above the dotted line.
"It will be a strong fight until the end, but we will be ready to do it," Pereira told BBC Sport.
"I was very proud of my players [against Bournemouth] because we played with a lot of injury limitations.
"It meant it was a very difficult game. After three games in a week, I feel very proud of my players."
Wolves are the only side that sit between Everton and the relegation zone, though David Moyes' men do have a 15-point buffer on 18th-place Ipswich Town.
That is thanks to a seven-match unbeaten run in the league, four of those ending in victory, which has coincided with Moyes' return to the dugout.
After making the most of a 10-day gap between games by heading to the United Arab Emirates for warm-weather training, Everton now face a trip to Molineux.
"Team spirit is hugely important," Moyes said of the decision to jet away. "Over the years, I've always encouraged team spirit.
"We need players who are going to look after each other, fight for each other. I need them to get to understand me a little bit and how we work.
"We can be tough when the work's getting done, but obviously, there's another side to us when we're not.
"There's huge work for us to do. But what [recent results] have given me is something to work towards."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Wolves - Jorgen Strand Larsen
Pereira will have to make do without star man Matheus Cunha after his red in the loss at Bournemouth, meaning others must step up.
Strand Larsen's nine league goal involvements is second-best to Cunha (17) among Wolves players, so all eyes will be on the Norway forward.
Everton - Beto
Losing Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury was considered a big blow for Everton, but his absence has allowed Beto to finally enjoy a run of starts.
The forward has more than played his part in the Toffees' impressive recent run, scoring five goals in his past five appearances.
MATCH PREDICTION: DRAW
Everton's seven-game unbeaten league run is their best since a streak of nine without defeat under Ronald Koeman that ended in February 2017.
Wolves, meanwhile, have lost 15 of their past 22 Premier League home matches since February 2024, most recently going down 2-1 to Fulham.
The Toffees were 4-0 winners against Wolves in the reverse clash, but only in 2020-21 have they done the league double in this fixture.
Indeed, Wolves have lost just one of their past seven Premier League home matches against Everton, winning this exact fixture 3-0 last season.
Everton are beginning to become draw specialists with three in their past four top-flight outings, and another tight contest can be expected here.
