Rodgers confirms Tierney move to Celtic is on
Brendan Rodgers confirmed Kieran Tierney's proposed move to Celtic will "definitely take place in the summer", but hopes a deal can be agreed during the January transfer window.
The Scotland international's contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season, with the Hoops eager to bring him back to Celtic Park for a second spell.
Tierney came through the youth ranks at Celtic and won four Scottish Premiership titles, before joining the Gunners in 2019.
The 27 year-old spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad, and has made just five appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this term, having only recently returned from injury.
"He's still, at this moment, an Arsenal player," Rodgers said. "I think we're agreed that it will definitely take place in the summer. If we can do it beforehand, then great.
"I don't want to speak too much about it with the greatest respect, because he's not a Celtic player here now with us. But, if we were able to do it, of course, we would like to do that, but that's out of our control at this moment in time."
Rodgers also confirmed Alex Valle's season-long loan spell from Barcelona has come to an end, with Como reportedly interested in taking the 20 year-old on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
"Alex won't play again," Rodgers said. "Sadly, he's in Barcelona at the moment, and he will probably then move on to another team. We're disappointed that he's left, but we have to move on."
