Galatasaray 2 Copenhagen 2 - Highlights
Galatasaray battled back from 2-0 down to secure a valuable draw against the ten men of Copenhagen
Late goals from Sacha Boey and Tete earned Galatasaray a unlikely point against Copenhagen on Wednesday evening.
The visitors took the lead against the run of play when Lukas Lerager picked out Mohamed Elyounoussi, the Norwegian international promptly controlled it with his chest before lashing home on the volley. The Turkish side pushed for a leveler, but were quickly undone in the second half on the counter attack with Diogo Goncalves finding plenty of time and space to put Copenhagen 2-0 up just before the hour mark.
The contest swung in favour of Galatasaray 15 minutes from time when Elias Jelert was shown a second yellow card for a late challenge. Pushing forward, Galatasaray eventually pulled a goal back on the 86th minute thanks to a wonderful strike from Sacha Boey. Tete’s pass found the Frenchman who took a touch before thumping his effort past Grabara.
Just a moment later the Turkish champions found parity. This time Tete turned goalscorer and his rasping long range effort nestled into the back of the net to give Gala a deserved share of the spoils.
