Bournemouth's Europe hopes fade further after draw
Bournemouth's winless run in the Premier League stretched to six matches as it had to settle for a dramatic 2-2 draw with West Ham United at London Stadium.
Evanilson had given Bournemouth the lead just before half-time, applying a simple finish after a mistake from home goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Areola could only parry Antoine Semenyo’s shot into the path of Bournemouth's Brazilian striker, who gratefully tucked home from inside the six-yard box.
The visitors had controlled the first half, but West Ham flipped the script in the space of seven second-half minutes.
Niclas Fullkrug rose highest to power James Ward-Prowse's corner past Kepa Arrizabalaga and level the contest just past the hour, then Jarrod Bowen put them ahead with a similar header seven minutes later.
However, Evanilson got his second goal of the game 11 minutes from time, sealing a share of the spoils with another close-range finish, which like his first, was confirmed after a video assistant referee (VAR) check for offside.
The result sees West Ham, which has gone four league matches without a win, edge up to 15th on the table ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's game against Southampton on Monday (AEST).
Bournemouth moved up one place and into ninth position on 45 points, although the result does little to reinvigorate its flagging hopes of European qualification.
