Rogers questions reported Villa price tag
Morgan Rogers has questioned the £130 million ($250 million) price tag Aston Villa has reportedly placed on him amid interest from Arsenal, quipping: "I'm not sure I'm worth all that."
Rogers helped Villa win the UEFA Europa League in 2025-2026, with a 3-0 final victory over Freiburg in Istanbul ending a 44-year wait for continental silverware after its 1982 European Cup triumph.
The attacking midfielder also scored 10 Premier League goals as Unai Emery's team finished fourth, its second top-four finish in the past three seasons.
Rogers's fine form won him a place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and has seemingly earned him plenty of admirers, with Premier League champion Arsenal reportedly keen on a transfer.
But when the reported fee was put to Rogers at England's 2026 FIFA World Cup training base, he said: "I'm not sure I'm worth all that. Of course, it's nice to hear that from people.
"But I don't let outside noise dictate things for me. I'm just going to keep focused, keep being me, keep being the person that got me here and keep trying to improve.
"I don't really listen to stuff like that."
Villa is due to face UEFA Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup on 13 August (AEST), before opening its 2026-2027 Premier League campaign at Brighton and Hove Albion on 24 August (AEST).
Arsenal will be the first visitor to Villa Park in the upcoming season on the last weekend in August, and it remains to be seen if Rogers will be a home player for that fixture or, possibly, part of the away team.
