Atalanta smashes sorry Juventus
Atalanta was at its attacking best in a statement 4-0 Serie A win over Juventus.
The result also saw Atalanta win an away game against Juventus by at least two goals for the first time in their Serie A history, in what was a stunning display.
Mateo Retegui's penalty put the visitors ahead in the 26th minute, with the spot-kick awarded after Weston McKennie had handled the ball inside the area.
It took the visitor 50 seconds to double the lead in the second half as Ademola Lookman's shot was parried into the path of Marten de Roon, who fired the ball home.
Atalanta put the result beyond doubt with a real moment of quality, with a fine free-flowing move seeing Davide Zappacosta find the back of the net after collecting Sead Kolasinac's neat backheel in the box.
Lookman concluded the scoring in the 77th minute, with his strike deflecting off Lloyd Kelly and past the outstretched arm of Michele Di Gregorio, moving Atalanta to within three points of leaders Inter.
Atalanta is three points adrift of league-leader Inter, while Juventus stays fourth, albeiot six points behind Gian Piero Gasperini's side.
