Inter pegged back to open door for Napoli
Serie A leader Inter Milan squandered a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 against Parma in Serie A, offering Napoli the chance to close the gap at the top of the table.
With head coach Simeone Inzaghi serving a touchline ban after being shown a red card last weekend, Inter was undone by two goals in nine second-half minutes.
Matteo Darmian had put Inter ahead in the 15th minute, striking home at the near post as the ball went in off the woodwork.
While Parma improved after going a goal down, the league leader increased its lead on the stroke of half-time through Marcus Thuram, whose fortuitously lobbed finish found its way over Zion Suzuki from inside the box.
However, Parma, which had threatened visiting goalkeeper Yann Sommer in the first half, pulled a goal back on the hour through Adrian Bernabe, who sent a pinpoint effort into the bottom-right corner from 20 yards out.
The hosts turned the game on its head in the 69th minute when Jacob Ondrejka's mazy run ended with his strike deflecting off Darmian and past Sommer.
Inter moved on to 68 points from its 31 games and four clear of second-placed Napoli, which travels to high-flying Bologna on Tuesday (AEDT).
