The 37-year-old Djokovic continued his trend of impeccable serving, making an astonishing 87 per cent of his first serves and winning 79 per cent of those points, despite windy conditions on court.
“As far as my game goes, again, serve was definitely the highlight of the match,” Djokovic said after the match.
“I think I was 83 per cent [first-serves made] last match, and I thought it would probably be difficult to beat that, but today 87 [per cent]. I don’t know what to say, I’ve been serving really well and hopefully I can continue in the same fashion because that definitely makes my life easier on the court.”
Djokovic was watched by Argentina and Inter Miami star Lionel Messi, as well as fellow tennis legend Venus Williams, and proved to be as flawless as that pair in its prime.
The No.4 seed coughed up a miniscule five unforced errors –four off his backhand and one double fault – throughout the 70-minute victory.
"Amazing to have him [Messi] here, a great honour to play, probably for the first time, in front of him live," Djokovic said.
"I've admired him, of course, as [has] most of the world for most of his career, so it's amazing he keeps going. We're actually the same age, born in '87, so it's quite nice to have him around."
Djokovic is now within one win of a 100th title in his professional career, something that he has been chasing since claiming his first Olympic gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games last year.
"After the Olympics, which was my 99th title, I knew that every tournament I play I'm going for 100, but I wasn't able to achieve that until Sunday [Monday AEDT] – hopefully," the Serbian said.
"I'm going to go all in. I haven't dropped a set [this fortnight], I'm playing really good tennis – as good as I've played in a long time – so hopefully it can come here."
Djokovic now leads Dimitrov 13-1 in their head-to-head, and the Bulgarian had no answers in this clash, which was his 11th straight defeat to the grand slam record holder.
The 33-year-old, who was a finalist at this tournament last year, came into the semi-final on the back of a physical quarter-final against Francisco Cerundolo, in which he needed assistance from a tournament doctor and ATP physio after the match.
