Kyrgios falls in Miami as Khachanov moves forward
Nick Kyrgios was unable to back up his first ATP Tour win since 2022 at the Miami Open after he was put out by Karen Khachanov in the second round, the Russian claiming a 7-6 (7-3) 6-0 victory.

Australia's Kyrgios had defeated Mackenzie McDonald in the first round to earn his first tour-level win since October three years ago, but Khachanov, who reached the semi-finals in Miami in 2023, was too tough a test for him to pass.
"With Nick you never know, he hasn't played much in the past two years," Khachanov said.
"You never know what to expect about which Nick is coming. I saw his first match and he was playing really well. Today was the same.
"When you play Nick you have to stay calm, especially in the heat of the battle.
"I had to stay focused, mentally strong and it happened and I am proud of myself today."
Khachanov will play Grigor Dimitrov in the next round after he beat Italian Federico Cina 6-1, 6-4 victory.
Cina, a 17-year-old wild card, grabbed his first ATP Tour win in his opening match in Miami against Francisco Comesana but couldn't trouble the vastly more experienced Dimitrov.
Kyrgios's fellow Australian Tristan Schoolkate also bowed out in his match, losing 6-4 6-4 to Felix Auger-Aliassime, and former world No.1 Novak Djokovic proved far too strong for Rinky Hijikata, winning the first set 6-0, and although the Aussie pushed the grand slam record holder to a tiebreak in the second set, he lost it 7-1.
