Meet the Highest-Paid NFL Coaches
Andy Reid, head coach of the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and Sean Payton of the Denver Broncos, top the list of the NFL's highest-paid coaches, according to Sportico, a platform specializing in the sports industry and franchise valuations.
Reid, a seasoned 66-year-old coach, earns an annual salary of $20 million, followed by Payton, aged 60, who brings in $18 million per season.
Andy Reid commands the current dominant dynasty in the NFL, the Chiefs, having led them to four Super Bowls in the last five years, winning Super Bowl LIV, LVII, and LVIII.
Reid's coaching career began in 1999 with the Philadelphia Eagles, whom he guided to Super Bowl XXXIX, which they lost to Tom Brady's New England Patriots. He also lost Super Bowl LV to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, again led by Brady.
Since 1999, Reid has accumulated 263 wins, 144 losses, and one tie, with a win percentage of .646.
Sean Payton, second on the list, started his head coaching career with the New Orleans Saints in 2006, leading them to win Super Bowl XLIV. He parted ways with the Saints in 2021 and has been at the helm of the Broncos since last year.
Tied for third are Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jim Harbaugh of the Los Angeles Chargers, each earning $16 million annually.
Tomlin, who has coached the Steelers since 2007, has never had a losing season and led the team to a Super Bowl XLII victory.
Jim Harbaugh, who coached the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl XLVII loss to the Baltimore Ravens, is in his first season with the Chargers after leading Michigan to a college football title last year.
