The NBA fined Anthony Edwards, a star player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, $35,000 for making an "obscene gesture" during a game against the Sacramento Kings last Friday. 

The incident occurred with 3:15 left in the first quarter of the Timberwolves' 130-126 overtime victory at the Golden 1 Center. 

Images of Edwards making the gesture surfaced on social media following the game. 

Despite the controversy, the Timberwolves secured the win in overtime, overshadowing De'Aaron Fox's historic 60-point performance, which set personal and franchise records and marked the highest scoring output of the NBA season so far. 

Edwards contributed significantly to his team's victory, scoring 36 points, supported by Julius Randle's 26 points.
