Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul: Heavyweight Showdown Nearing Deal for December on Netflix
🥊 Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul prepare a heavyweight showdown in Miami that could shake up the boxing world
Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul are reportedly finalizing a deal to face each other in a heavyweight fight this December, according to The Ring. The bout is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events of the year and could mark a turning point in the influencer-turned-boxer’s career.
Jake Paul was originally set to face Gervonta Davis on November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, in an event streamed live on Netflix, but the fight was canceled after Davis was removed from the card following domestic violence allegations.
After that, Paul began searching for a new opponent and, according to The Ring, Ryan Garcia and Terence Crawford were both approached. However, former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has reportedly stepped in, replacing Davis for a fight that would take place in Miami, Florida.
“Our team has worked closely with all parties to handle this situation responsibly,” said Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, following Davis’ removal.
“Although we will not be moving forward with that event, our plan remains for Jake Paul to headline a Netflix event in 2025. Details regarding the new date, venue, opponent, and undercard will be announced soon.”
Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis faces a civil lawsuit in Miami-Dade County, filed by his ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel, accusing him of aggravated battery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
