It was one of the most brutal kicks in martial arts history, and it happened during the main event of KC 47, when Rafael Alves, a former UFC fighter, obliterated James Vick in a fight that lasted no more than a single round.
The most brutal knockout of 2024
It all ended when the Brazilian executed a "switch kick" that left the American flat on his back, and if you turn up the volume, you'll hear the reaction of everyone in attendance at this great event.
"This could be the most violent knockout in KC history," the competition noted in its post about the finish. The fighter had to leave the ring and was taken to the hospital. Hours later, his coach, Adrian Galvin, reported that Vick "was responding before getting into the ambulance. He’s in the hospital now and they’re taking care of him."
