Lewis Hamilton Gets Slammed: “Not Even Schumacher Would Have Done This”
Former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi harshly criticizes Lewis Hamilton for his attitude after the Hungarian Grand Prix, saying that legends like Schumacher and Senna would never behave like that.
Ferrari in the eye of the storm
The Ferrari team is going through one of its most delicate moments, and tensions seem to be rising within the team. After a disappointing Hungarian Grand Prix where Lewis Hamilton finished far from the podium positions, controversy erupted with his own statements: “I am absolutely useless” and suggested that Ferrari should look for another driver.
Harsh criticism from a legend
Jean Alesi, the legendary French driver who raced for Ferrari between 1991 and 1995, did not remain silent in response to these comments. In a column for Corriere della Sera, Alesi was blunt:
“Hamilton's attitude demoralizes everyone who works with him. Neither Senna nor Schumacher would have said anything like that.”
The former driver even compared the situation to a horror movie, after the Ferrari car showed promising performance in qualifying in Hungary but collapsed in the race, unable to compete against direct rivals.
End of the road for Hamilton?
The 2025 season has not been easy for Hamilton. His only victory has been in a sprint race in China, and his best race result has been fourth place. This poor performance, coupled with his public self-criticism, has sparked a debate in Formula 1 about his future.
Even influential figures such as Bernie Ecclestone have suggested that it may be time for Lewis to consider retirement. “He's tired, he needs a complete reset and to do something completely different,” Ecclestone said.
