Morocco Strengthens Lead with Brahim Diaz's Hat-Trick in AFCON 2025 Qualifiers
Morocco delivered a dominant 7-0 win over Lesotho in Matchday 6 of the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers. Brahim Diaz shone with a spectacular hat-trick, while Soufiane Rahimi added a brace, and Youssef En-Nesyri and Ismael Saibari also got on the scoresheet.
Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz was the star of the show, continuing to showcase his talent with Morocco. The first goal came in the 5th minute, following a brilliant team play that left Diaz unmarked, allowing him to finish with his left foot.
Just 10 minutes later, he made it 2-0, this time scoring with his right foot from outside the box after a perfect strike in the 15th minute. His hat-trick goal came just before halftime, in the 42nd minute, after a poor clearance from Lesotho’s goalkeeper, completing his stellar performance.
Rahimi bagged his first goal in the 37th minute, and then converted a penalty in the 45+2’ to make it 5-0 by halftime. In the second half, Morocco didn't let up, adding two more goals. The first came in the 68th minute from En-Nesyri, followed by Saibari's goal just two minutes later. With this win, Morocco solidifies their top spot in Group B with 18 points, while Lesotho is eliminated, remaining in third place with just four points.
