Iker Casillas Becomes a Player Agent
Retired since 2020, legendary Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas has decided to embark on a new chapter in his professional career by founding 1K Sports Group, an agency dedicated to helping footballers manage their careers. Although he has not chosen to become a coach or club executive, the World Cup champion has found a way to return to the football world from a different perspective.
Casillas will not be alone in this new venture. The company will be led by Luis Gómez, with whom he has worked for several years. Additionally, he will have the support of former teammates such as Fernando Morientes, Fernando Hierro, Roberto Carlos, and Jozy Altidore. According to the agency’s official statement, Casillas aims to "combine his strategic vision and deep knowledge of the sport to lead a comprehensive platform that encompasses talent representation, social impact projects, and collaborations with major brands."
A Project with Global Ambitions
Casillas himself expressed his excitement about this new challenge: "It’s time to build something of my own, something that reflects my values and my vision of sport as a driver of opportunities and transformation. We want to be a global reference, combining talent, innovation, and a human approach in every step we take." Among the first players to join the agency are José Ángel Carmona (Sevilla) and Fran González (Real Madrid).
1K Sports Group will have offices in Madrid and Los Angeles, aiming to tap into the growing football market in the United States and the opportunities presented by events such as the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. With this initiative, Iker Casillas continues to cement his legacy in football, now from a new perspective.
