Luis Enrique and Dembélé Face Barcelona Again
After the draw for the Champions League Quarterfinals, it was confirmed that one of the matchups in this series would be between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.
This duel holds significant history due to previous encounters between these two teams. But another reason why this tie will be intriguing is the return of two former Barça figures to Camp Nou territory.
The first is Luis Enrique, the current coach of PSG. The Spaniard donned the colors of Barcelona as a player from 1996 to 2004 and later returned to the club as head coach from 2014 to 2017.
During his time, Luis Enrique secured several titles with Barça, including two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey trophies, and a Champions League; thus, his return is likely to be positively received.
This does not seem to be the case for Ousmane Dembélé, the winger for PSG who spent a significant part of his career at Barça. Arriving in 2017 as a replacement for Neymar, the Frenchman suffered multiple injuries during his tenure at the club, causing him to miss many games.
Eventually, he departed for France last summer, despite having earned the trust of Xavi. Therefore, the circumstances surrounding his departure did not sit well with Barcelona fans, and his reception at Camp Nou is likely to be negative.
