Messi’s Humble Reflection: "I Never Imagined Having This Career"
Lionel Messi, star of Argentina’s national team and Inter Miami, reflected on his illustrious career, admitting that he never imagined achieving so much in football. In an interview with Apple TV, the Argentine icon expressed his gratitude for everything he has accomplished, both at the club level and with La Albiceleste.
"I never imagined I would have the career I’ve had. I never thought about it or even dreamed of it. My only goal was to become a professional and play football. Since I was a little kid, I loved playing and competing, and I’m truly grateful for everything I have achieved."
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner acknowledged that his life has been a gift, and even in his wildest dreams, he wouldn’t have asked for so much success.
"I was incredibly lucky to win everything in football, both collectively with my teams and the national team, as well as individually. Even I wouldn’t have asked for so much."

Adapting to MLS and Moving Away from Europe
During the interview, Messi looked back on his childhood in Rosario, his challenging move to FC Barcelona at 12 years old, and the happiness he now experiences in Major League Soccer with Inter Miami.
"I always had the idea of playing in MLS. I mentioned it more than once—it was something that intrigued me. Joining Inter Miami was a great opportunity, given how everything unfolded."
Messi continues to enjoy his new chapter in the United States, embracing a new culture and league, while remaining one of the most influential players in the sport’s history.
