Another One? Militao Suffers Severe Injury, Joins Real Madrid's Lengthy Injury List
Real Madrid's injury woes continue as Rodrygo Goes suffers a new muscular injury and Éder Militao faces a knee issue, leaving the field in tears during a match at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The situation heightens concerns within Carlo Ancelotti's squad, especially with a shortage of defenders.
Militao was injured 27 minutes into the game while attempting to connect with a set-piece against Osasuna. His knee appeared to lock, causing him to collapse in evident pain. His teammates immediately signaled for medical assistance, and the Brazilian center-back was stretchered off the field.
Militao had previously sustained a serious knee injury on the opening day of La Liga last season, August 12 at San Mamés, returning to play on March 31 against Athletic Bilbao after recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
While further tests are pending to determine the extent of Militao's injury, Ancelotti, who has not bolstered his defensive lineup following the departure of Nacho Fernández, opted for academy player Raúl Asencio to replace Militao, preferring him over Jesús Vallejo.
