Bayern Munich's new coach, Vincent Kompany, emphasized the need to "focus on reaching the top again" following a trophy-less season, after concluding his first training session with the German team.

In an interview with the club's media, the new manager noted that "from the outset, you can feel it's a new era and the mentality is immediately there," stressing the importance of preparation as they're not yet in top form.

"You have to learn some things and be mentally prepared from the start. The squad needs to give 100% concentration and intensity to achieve success. I'm really looking forward to starting the season with this team. Right now, we're making sure everyone is in perfect shape and everything is going well in this preseason," said the former Burnley coach.

Regarding his coaching staff, which includes three assistants, Kompany detailed, "Aaron Danks is, in my opinion, one of the most talented coaches in England. He's been an assistant coach for many years and has also coached several youth teams. Floribert N'Galula played with me in the youth teams at Anderlecht. He later joined Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson had a big influence on him, and his understanding and empathy are very relevant qualities for a coaching staff. And René Maric was already part of the coaching staff and has a wealth of knowledge. He's someone who will help me a lot on the field."

Regarding the language used in training sessions, the Belgian explained that clarity is crucial. He mentioned that while he can currently "explain some things in German," the language of business in football is English, including all his football terminology.

"It will take time until I can translate everything. Perhaps that will change in the coming years, but for now, English is the chosen language. I come from Belgium, a small country where we communicate in all languages: German, French, English, Dutch. It's essential to motivate players to learn and communicate in German," he concluded.
