Man City youngster Mubama joins Southampton on loan
Off the back of an impressive pre-season campaign with Manchester City, Divin Mubama has joined Southampton on loan.
Southampton have signed Manchester City striker Divin Mubama on a season-long loan deal.
The 21-year-old will play in the Championship for a second consecutive campaign after a loan spell with Stoke City last term.
Mubama scored five goals in 28 appearances for Stoke in 2025-26, though an ankle injury impacted his time with the Potters.
The forward impressed for City in pre-season under Enzo Maresca, scoring against Inter and the K-League All-Stars before providing an assist in a 3-1 win over Atletico Madrid.
"I believe in myself, one hundred per cent," Mubama told Southampton's website.
"With the way this team plays, when you've got players around you that have that much quality, you will be served.
"It's up to you whether you put the ball in the back of the net, and that’s what I'm here to do.
"I've just come back from a pre-season where I've scored goals. I've been playing, I feel really fresh, I feel sharp, so I'm just really excited to get going."
Mubama joined City in 2024 from West Ham, where he won the FA Youth Cup and scored his first senior goal in the 2022-23 Conference League.
The England Under-21 international also netted on his City debut in January 2025 against Salford in the FA Cup.
He will now look to help Southampton earn promotion to the Premier League, after their play-off push last season was halted by their spying scandal.
Tonda Eckert's side have already beaten Colchester United in the EFL Cup, while their Championship campaign starts this weekend against Watford.
