Chilean team Palestino drew 1-1 against Brazil's Cuiabá in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana Playoffs.

Nicolás Linares opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, but a mistake by Palestino's goalkeeper allowed Deyverson to equalize in the 61st minute.

The Chilean team entered this match with more experience than the Brazilian side, having reached the quarter-finals in the first of their five tournament appearances, whereas this is Mato Grosso's first time at this stage in their three previous editions.
