Stunning PSG´s Giant Mural in LA
Los Angeles has witnessed a vibrant display of art and football passion with the new mural dedicated to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), created by renowned artist Gustavo Zermeño Junior. The artwork, located in the iconic Melrose area, pays tribute to the recent Champions League winners, immortalizing five of the team's key players on one of the city’s most popular streets.
Among the featured stars are William Pacho, Nuno Mendes, and Ousmane Dembélé, who have been vital in PSG’s European conquest. Journalist Ana Quiles was present at the scene to capture the moment, highlighting the story of Ecuadorian defender William Pacho, who not only shines at the back but has also made history as the first Ecuadorian to play for PSG.
This artistic tribute coincides with PSG’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, currently taking place in the United States. Despite an impressive 4-0 debut win over Atlético de Madrid, the Parisian side stumbled in their second group match, losing 0-1 to Botafogo, which complicated their path in Group B.
A tight race for the knockout stage
With the unexpected loss to the Brazilian club, PSG is now under pressure to win their upcoming clash against Seattle Sounders on June 23, as a draw would not be enough if Atlético de Madrid beats Botafogo. On the other hand, the Brazilian team controls its own destiny — a draw against Diego Simeone’s squad would be enough to see them through to the next round.
In a post-match press conference, PSG coach Luis Enrique admitted: “This defeat serves as a wake-up call. It’s a reminder that we need to give everything in this third match. We’re in a very competitive group, but if there’s a team that can turn this around, it’s ours.”
Despite the setback, PSG remains hopeful of advancing and continuing to make history. Meanwhile, their presence in the streets of Los Angeles through urban art confirms that their impact reaches far beyond the football pitch.
