74' GOAL PORTUGAL
Bruno Fernandes doubles Portugal’s lead with a superb right-footed strike from the edge of the box, curling his effort into the corner beyond the goalkeeper’s reach. A stunning finish.

57' GOAL PORTUGAL
Gonçalo Guedes opens the scoring, cutting inside from the left flank after a perfectly threaded pass from Ruben Neves through the middle. The forward drives into the box and calmly finishes, placing his shot across goal into the far corner at the back post.

45' TWO RED CARD AND A FIGHT
Portugal's Rafael Leao and Chile's Ivan Roman are heading to the dressing room after being involved in a heated confrontation near La Roja's goal line.
The incident began when Roman, alongside Felipe Faundez, confronted Francisco Conceicao following a challenge between Faundez and the Portuguese winger. Tempers quickly flared, prompting Leao to step in and defend his teammate after what he viewed as an overly aggressive reaction from Roman.
The exchange escalated as Leao and Roman continued to shove each other. At one point, the Chilean defender went to the ground and appeared to claim he had been struck in the face.
The AC Milan winger would likely miss Portugal's upcoming friendly against Nigeria, but the incident is not expected to affect his availability for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Several players joined the altercation as tensions boiled over, while others, including Cristiano Ronaldo, attempted to restore order and calm both sides.
35' DISALLOWED GOAL FOR CRISTIANO RONALDO
Cristiano Ronaldo finds the back of the net, but the goal is ruled out for offside.
The Portuguese captain burst forward from midfield after a perfectly timed through ball from Bruno Fernandes, who picked out Ronaldo with a pinpoint pass after lifting his head and spotting the run.
After reaching the ball and settling himself in a one-on-one situation, the Al-Nassr star calmly guided his shot across goal, beating goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux low to the ground at the near post.
Vigouroux, who had already produced several impressive saves, including two against Ronaldo, was finally beaten, but the offside flag denied the veteran forward the opening goal.
Score: Portugal 0-0 Chile

THIS IS HOW CHILE WILL EMERGE
As preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup continue, Portugal will take on Chile this Saturday in Lisbon in a friendly match designed to fine-tune Roberto Martínez’s squad ahead of the tournament.
THE STAGE
The match will be played at the Estadio Nacional do Jamor in Lisbon, where Portugal is expected to use the occasion to evaluate his options as the World Cup approaches.
The reigning UEFA Nations League champions are unbeaten in their last three outings. Portugal followed a dominant qualifying victory over Armenia with a scoreless draw against Mexico in the reopening of the iconic Estadio Azteca before defeating the United States 2-0 in their most recent match.
Chile, meanwhile, arrives after suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat to New Zealand. La Roja was selected as Portugal’s opponent due to the similarities with Uruguay, whom the Portuguese will face in Group K at the World Cup. On paper, the South Americans appear to be favorable opposition for one of the tournament favorites.
TEAM NEWS
Portugal will be without midfielders Vitinha and Joao Neves, who have been rested after their demanding campaign with Paris Saint-Germain, capped by victory in the UEFA Champions League final.
With no injuries reported, stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes will be in action. The Chilean side will give playing time to Gonzalo Tapia and Felipe Loyola.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR PORTUGAL?
Following Saturday’s encounter, Portugal will face Nigeria in another friendly next Wednesday before traveling to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Portugal will then open its Group K campaign against the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia on June 17, 23 and 27, respectively, as the first phase of the tournament gets underway.
