Argentina captain Lionel Messi said his team proved “once again” that “no one gives us anything” after booking their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final on Wednesday with another dramatic comeback victory.

Argentina came from behind to defeat England 2-1 in Atlanta after falling behind in the 55th minute. Enzo Fernández equalized in the 85th minute before Lautaro Martínez completed the comeback with a stoppage-time winner in the 92nd minute, sending the reigning world champions back to the World Cup final.

Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone after the match, Messi reflected on the team's achievement.

“Four years ago, we accomplished what we wanted. We played the last match and were the best team in the world for four years. Once again, we've shown that no one gives us anything, and we've earned our place among the two best teams in the world again.”
