Tuchel addresses the controversy with Jude Bellingham

Thomas Tuchel finally spoke about the exchange of comments with Jude Bellingham that raised doubts about the atmosphere inside the England national team.

The German coach denied that there was a rift with the Real Madrid player and said that his relationship with Bellingham is even stronger than before, despite the public disagreement that emerged following England’s victory over Norway.

The controversy began when Tuchel admitted that he was not satisfied with England’s overall performance during their 2-1 extra-time victory in the quarterfinals.

Bellingham later responded by suggesting that the team’s effort over the 120 minutes deserved a more positive assessment.

There are no cracks within England

Tuchel also accused the media of exaggerating the controversy and attempting to create conflict inside the England dressing room.

The coach revealed that he held a meeting with his players the day after the match to clear up any possible misunderstandings ahead of the decisive clash against Argentina.

“They are trying to create misunderstandings and cracks where there are none. We come from the same place: we are both competitive,” he said.

Tuchel insisted that the energy and mentality inside the England camp are excellent and that the team is ready to compete for a place in the final.
